Coastal Glam Bedroom Ideas

When we moved into our home, I wanted to put some major emphasis into our master bedroom.  I wanted our master bedroom to become a haven for relaxation, and a place that we could go after a long day.  My mission was to make this space look very glamorous.  Last fall I finally got the bedroom to what I thought was finished.  You can see how it turned out here.

However, after living in the space and seeing images I feel like it was missing something… color. I had created this neutral haven, but it needed a pop.

And of course once I made this decision, I had to do a few other updates.  I decided to make the theme of this room Coastal Glam Decor.  Also note, I did all of these updates without having to replace any major furniture.

Here are the updates I did, and hopefully me sharing this will help you get ideas to update your own room:

Swapped out wall decor –  I LOVE my monogram, but I felt it was time to change up my decor a bit, so I added this trio wall coastal art behind the bed.

I had a very bland wall art on our wall by the door, and art that adds a pop of color, and jazz up the bare wall.

New rug – I was in need of a new rug desperately! The previous rug wasn’t large enough for the space.  I got a 9 x 12 rug from Well Woven, that I am absolutely in love with! I have the Harmony rug and so far it as been great in our master bedroom.

Ditched old curtains – I had patterned gold curtains previously and felt it made the room look too busy,  I decided to go with subtle ivory curtains because I didn’t want my curtains to play a major role in the room’s decor.  I kept my super affordable gold tie backs that were a great Walmart find!

Changed small decor – With me wanting to pull off my coastal glam look, I knew that my decor had to be the driving force.  I found some amazing pieces at Z Gallerie that really allowed me to accomplish this, from my coral to palm tree leaves. It made my theme come together.

Updated Bedding and Throw – I love a bright and airy look.  Our previous bedding which I still love made it difficult to get the look I wanted.  I decided to go simple and get a pearl bedding that matches with anything.  I also incorporated color with a throw blanket. I did keep our pillow shams to add pattern to the space.

The changes I made were small but impactful and helped me pull off the coastal glam bedroom ideas I wanted.

If you are in need of updating your bedroom, don’t feel pressured to have to buy new furniture. I did all of this without changing any major furniture.
